是什么时候在哪里举行的;
是什么样的成人典礼;
为什么这次典礼这么印象深刻;

The adult ceremony dates back to the Zhou Dynasty, enjoying a history of over 2000 years.

The ritual, usually held on the seventh day of the seventh month of the Chinese lunar calendar, was conducted for the child to thank his parents for the protection and care they had given during the past 15 years.

It’s an important time of one’s lives. Being involved in this kind of coming-of-age ceremonies often makes a teenager reflect on what it means to be crossing the threshold of adulthood.

It deepens the inner understanding of self and sets one’s feet along the path toward adulthood and faces the challenges of life with fresh knowledge and courage. In the process of getting older, there are times of significant transition, when the roles you are asked to be responsible for are changed forever. The most fundamental and challenging of these transitions occurs when the child becomes a man or a woman. Now they can play the adult roles and shoulder new responsibility. With the responsibility comes the freedom to make decisions previously made by the parents.

When it comes to an Adulthood Ceremony that I’ve taken, I’d like to talk about the one which was held in the Lecture Hall of my senior high school. (When and where it was held)
Actually the ceremony was kind of like boring, because you know we were required to wear the ugly uniform standing there for almost two hours and listening to the endless speeches. Firstly, the headmaster delivered a congratulatory speech telling us that it’s time for us to stop behaving like a child and to act as an adult. blablabla… and wish us a successful career and good fortune. Later on our student representative gave a speech to extend our gratitude to school. And next, one of the students’ parents made a speech again. After that, we pledged. And then, finally, the end.
(What the ceremony was like)
Frankly speaking I would say that the ceremony itself was really common, what impressed me so much was the meaning behind this. I suddenly realized it was really an important moment of my life when I waved goodbye to my childhood. After 18 I should start to shoulder new responsibilities, which was quite shocking at first. But gradually, I felt so good because it helped me deepen the inner understanding of myself and face the challenges of life with courage. (Why it was so impressive and whether it had any influence on me)
